The EU slapped Google with a record 2.4-billion-euro anti-trust fine on Tuesday, dealing a fresh blow to a US tech giant and risking the anger of President Donald Trump.
"The European Commission has fined Google 2.42 billion euros ($2.7 billion) for breaching EU antitrust rules," a statement said, adding that the Silicon Valley juggernaut had abused its market dominance as the world's most popular search engine to give illegal advantage to its Google Shopping service.
