British Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday he believed he could secure "new and different" ties with the EU after launching a bid for reforms ahead of a referendum on whether to leave the bloc.

"These talks will take tenacity and pateince", Cameron told a press conference after a summit of European Union leaders in Brussels at which he presented his plans, saying he was "confident" that the reforms can be achieved.
