Major powerbrokers agreed to hold a "peace congress" for Syria in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi on January 29-30, a joint statement released after talks in  Kazakhstan said.

Sochi will host the congress "with the participation of all segments of Syrian society," according to the joint statement from the negotiations sponsored by Russia, Turkey and Iran.
