A student leader was shot dead in Venezuela at a meeting Thursday as fresh anti-government protests erupted in the streets, prosecutors said.
The victim was at a student meeting in the northern state of Anzoategui when "one of those present approached him and shot him several times before fleeing on a motorbike," the public prosecution service said in a statement.
