Polling stations in Haiti's long-delayed legislative elections opened at 6:00 am local time (1000 GMT) Sunday, marking the first vote since President Michel Martelly came to power in May 2011.
After nearly four years of delays, Haiti's 5.8 million voters are being asked to elect all members of the Caribbean nation's Chamber of Deputies and two-thirds of its Senate. More than 1,800 candidates are jostling for 139 spots.
