Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it launched a series of missiles into Syria on Sunday, targeting what it called "terror bases" in a region largely controlled by the Islamic State group.

The missiles were fired across the border into Deir Ezzor province "in retaliation" for deadly June 7 attacks on Tehran claimed by IS, the Guard said in a statement published on their sepahnews website.
