Germany expects to receive up to 800,000 asylum-seekers in 2015, a record figure, Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said on Wednesday, citing a new official estimate.
"We have to expect up to 800,000 asylum-seekers," de Maiziere told reporters, adding that "this development is a challenge for us all". Berlin had previously expected 500,000 asylum-seekers to arrive this year.
