China expressed "strong dissatisfaction" on Wednesday at the US government's latest probe into its trade practices as Washington investigates imports of Chinese aluminium sheet.

"This practice by the US side is very rare in the history of international trade. China expresses strong dissatisfaction towards the tendency of trade protectionism displayed by the United States," the commerce ministry said in a statement.
