Blast in Turkey border town

At least 10 people died when an explosion hit the Turkish border town of Suruc near the border with Syria on Monday, local television reported.

The cause was not immediately clear.

A Turkish government official confirmed to AFP that the blast took place in the garden of a culture centre in Suruc -- which lies opposite the Syrian flashpoint town of Kobane. But he declined to provide any toll.

Several media reported fatalities and NTV said at least 10 people had been killed.
