Police in Burundi shot dead at least two demonstrators Monday in clashes with protesters angry at a bid by President Pierre Nkurunziza to extend his rule, a human rights activist said.
"Since this morning, there are at least two people shot dead by police," Pierre-Claver Mbonimpa told AFP, taking the total killed in more than a week of protests to at least 11. An AFP reporter on Monday also saw at least eight people with bullet wounds.
