Spring of Culture, the most anticipated festival in Bahrain, has announced that renowned singer Mohammed Abdo, known as the Artist of the Arabs, will perform at a concert which will take place at Arad Fort on Friday March 14, 2014. The concert is expected to attract a huge crowd as Abdo performs a variety of his most popular songs. Since its inception nine years ago, the Spring of Culture has continued to host some of the most notable singers in the region and the world, with Mohammed Abdo being one of the most prominent. Singing from an early age, his musical career took off in the early sixties, playing an important role in introducing Arab and Gulf songs to the whole world. He has done this through collaborations with some of the most respected composers, namely; Tariq Abdul Hakim, Abdul Rab Idris, Baligh Hamdi, Mohammed El - Mougi , Omar Kadras and Yousef Al-Muhanna. For fifty years, Mohammed Abdo has sung timeless classics such as Laylat Khamees, Enta Mahbobi, Aba’ad, El amaken among others. Also, he has collaborated with a number of well-known Arab poets including HRH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HRH Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal, HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, HRH Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud , HRH Prince Bader bin Abdul Mohsen, HRH Abdulrahman bin Musaaed, Badr Shaker Sayyab, Faeq Abdul Jalil, Talal Al Rasheed, Ibrahim Khafaji, Taher Zamakhshari and Mohammed Al-Ahmad Al Sudairi. . Spring of Culture is organised by the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Culture and Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, in collaboration with Al Bareh Art Gallery, Al Riwaq Art Space and La Fontaine Centre.
