Egyptian MP and Political Sciences professor Amr Hamzawy and actress Basma finally got married on Wednesday evening, in the presence of their families and close friends. Hamzawy announced his marriage to Basma on air, a few hours before dawn, during the TV show ‘Akher Kalam’ hosted by Yosri Fouda. The couple’s marriage hashes the several rumours about their break up, claiming that they split up after the screening of Basma’s new film ‘Wahed Sahih’ (Whole One), as the movie contained “inappropriate” words and dialogues.    Hamzawy had announced his relationship with the Egyptian actress last August in his column on Shorouk newspaper, following the armed attack the couple were subjected to last July. Months of silence preceded Hamzawi’s announcement of Tuesday night. The two have often been seen together starting since last April, when Basma was attending seminars chaired by Hamzawy. Moreover, she joined the Freedom Egypt Party founded by Hamzawy last year. Hamzawy is considered one of the most prominent names in the political scene following the January 25 revolution, when he became a political liberal icon within the Egyptian society.
