Units of the Syrian army controlled some areas in Al-Hasakah city, northeast of Syria, while the opposition announced that it dominated a military regiment, Syria Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
A Syrian military source was quoted by SANA as saying that some units of military forces restored security and safety to some areas in Al-Hasakah city, adding some armed groups, most of whom are non-Syrians, were killed and three of their vehicles demolished.
Meanwhile, fighters of Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) controlled a military regiment south Al-Hasakah after clashing violently with forces loyal to President Bassar Al-Assad, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
