Seven people were killed and 19 others injured on Tuesday in two separate mortar attacks by the Syrian rebels in the capital Damascus and the northern city of Aleppo, the state-run SANA news agency reported. Four people were killed and six others wounded, including children, when two mortar shells fired by rebels slammed a residential bloc in the Bab al-Faraj area in Aleppo, the report said. The attack also caused material damage to nearby houses and parked cars. In Damascus, two mortar rounds landed in the Kabbas area, killing three people and injuring 13 others, the report said, adding that two other mortars hit the vicinity of the Faris al- Khouri Street in al-Abbasien district but caused no damages. Meanwhile, the opposition activists reported shelling by government troops on many rebellious areas nationwide as well as clashes with the rebel Free Syrian Army in the day.
