At least 12 militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed on Sunday in clashes with Kurdish fighters in the Syrian town of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), according to a monitoring group.
The Kurdish People's Protection Units supported by fighters managed to seize a village in southwestern Kobani after fierce clashes with ISIL militants, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a statement.
The units seized a tank and a vehicle belonging to the ISIL, it added.
Meanwhile, the SOHR said that at least four civilians, including a child, were killed and nine others injured on Sunday when the Syrian regime's warplanes used explosive barrel bombs on a village in the governorate of Rif Dimashq (the Countryside of Damascus).
It noted that the death toll is likely to rise as some injured people are in critical conditions.
According to Syria Live agency, scores of the Syrian regime's forces were killed or injured on Sunday in fierce clashes with the opposition forces, who seized several buildings in a district in Aleppo city.
