Lebanese singer Elissa expressed delight on Saturday after receiving an award from YouTube for crossing a million followers on her official YouTube channel.
’So glad I got this recognition from @YouTube to celebrate 1 Million Subscribers. Another great achievement #Elissa’ she posted on her Twitter and Instagram pages. Elissa also posted a photo of the gold-plated award, captioning it ‘Cannot be more proud.’
Congratulatory messages poured in from her equally jubilant fans around the world.
@ElineAbudraa tweeted: ‘@elissakh @YouTube Mabroooookk u deserve it divaaa’ while @Dalalkhaled wrote: ‘@elissakh you should (be proud) its a reward for all your hard-work through the years in your career!! Proud of you’.
Elissa will be the guest on the first episode of Enta Online on Dubai TV hosted by Wissam Breidy. The show will be broadcast at 9:30 p.m. KSA time on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The singing sensation was declared the most popular Arab singer on Twitter after attracting a milestone 10 million followers in August this year.
Elissa has sold more than 30 millions albums, and in 2005, 2006, and 2010 received the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist.
YouTube Creator Rewards, more commonly known as YouTube Play Buttons, are a recognition by YouTube of its most popular channels. These are distinct from YouTube Awards which are intended to recognize the best quality videos; the YouTube Creator Rewards are based solely on a channel’s subscriber count.
There are three levels of rewards — the Diamond Play Button, for channels with 10,000,000 subscribers; Gold Play Button, for channels with 1,000,000 subscribers; and Silver Play Button, for channels with 100,000 subscribers.
