Singer Amina has turned down an offer to sing the theme song for the film Hala Nadra (Rare Case). The film’s director Hosni Saleh phoned the singer to ask for a meeting straight after hearing snippets from her new album Nefsi Nebaed (Time Apart). The pair met for a lengthy meeting in Amina’s home, but negotiations collapsed after the director and producer asked the singer to let them use one of the songs on her album as the theme song for Hala Nadra without a fee. Amina turned them down, saying that she had produced the songs herself after a long absence from the music market that cost her a lot of money. After the meeting she headed to Beirut to take part in the television program Duo al-Mashaheer (Celebrity Duets) which broadcasts on Lebanon’s LBC and Egypt’s CBC. The singer is hurriedly preparing to set a date for the release of her new album, which was postponed due to the political turmoil that her home country of Tunisia has been experiencing.
