Seventy-three terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed in US airstrikes on their site in the northern city of Mosul, while 57 people were killed and 145 others wounded in a spate of suicide bombings across Iraq on Thursday.
The air raids targeted a training camp for the militant group in Hamam Al-Alil area in southeast Mosul, killing 73 ISIL terrorists from Tunisia, Chechnya and Afghanistan and other nationalities, an Iraqi military source told KUNA.
Among those killed was the commander of ISIL training center Abu Sarmid Al-Tunsi.
Meanwhile, a suicide bomber detonated his booby-trap vehicle in Kathimia city, followed by mortar rounds attack killing 19 people and injuring 44 others.
Iraqi police source told KUNA that the vehicle attack occurred in Mohammad Al-Jawad area in the city, killing 12 civilians and injuring 25 others.
Mortar attacks followed the car explosion, killing at least give people and injuring 12 others, including the destruction of nearby shops.
