Iraqi forces have taken control of Hurayrat al Falluja area, eastern Anbar, as part of an operation to liberate al Falluja city from Daesh.
The joint Iraqi forces also managed to foil a massive attack by Daesh militants who were planning to use seven booby-trapped cars.
A military source said the troops also took control of al Shahabi area and killed 16 terrorists.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi is following up the military operations against Daesh from the command center.
On Sunday, Abadi announced the launch of Operation Falluja Liberation.
