Head of Iraq's National Alliance Ammar al Hakim met Tuesday with Douglas Silliman, the US Ambassador in Baghdad, to discuss developments regarding Operation Coming Ninawa.
The operation, meant to liberate Mosul, is a little bit slow due to humanitarian reasons, Hakim told Silliman.
The Iraqi army is slowly advancing to spare blood of civilians, whom Daesh uses as human shields, Hakim said.
He made it clear to Silliman that the National Alliance had submitted a proposal for national settlement based on the principles of unity and human rights.
The proposal is to build an Iraqi state that is based on the concept of citizenship, Hakim noted.
