Iraqi authorities retrieved about 87 billion dinars, after arresting three people over charges of forging real estate bonds and illegally obtaining agricultural loans.
In press statements Saturday, spokesman for Iraq's High Judicial Council Abdul Satar Birqadr said that a court in Baghdad managed to retrieve about 87 billion dollars, adding that the amount of money was about to be disbursed illegally through one of the state-owned banks.
The three suspects were arrested at Baghdad International Airport, he added, noting that the suspects have forged real estate bonds in order to provide them with guarantees to obtain loans.
