Iraq's military on Friday said it has completely controlled riots in Baghdad's Green Zone.
Protesters began to withdraw after storming the headquarters of the general secretariat of the Iraqi cabinet building in the Green Zone in central Baghdad.
Iraq's military has imposed a curfew in Baghdad until further notice.
The protests were the second in less than a month and came more than two weeks after the highly fortified compound was first breached by Shiite protesters in April.
