The death toll from a car bombing that targeted Shiite Karrad district in central Baghdad on Monday evening has jumped to nine.
Also, 20 more people were injured in the suicide blast carried out by the Daesh terrorist group.
Iraqi President Fouad Massoum condemned the terrorist attack, terming it a desperate attempt to ignite the sectarian strife to weaken the unity of the Iraqi people and their determination to wipe out terrorist groups.
Also, he urged all security bodies to take swift actions to bring the culprits to justice.
Hundreds of Iraqis were killed and hurt in previous attacks that targeted districts of Karrada and Al Shaab and Sadr city in addition to other areas, the Iraqi president said, asserting those assaults will not dissuade Iraqis from purging their country from Daesh militants.
