A car bomb detonated in Buhruz in Iraq's Diyala province, killing at least nine people and wounding at least 20 Monday, provincial police said. Provincial police said the bomb-laden car was detonated near a popular cafe, parked near a popular cafe in the town of Buhruz, close to the provincial capital city of Baquba, northeast of Baghdad, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported. Local authorities imposed curfew following the attack, the police official said. On Sunday, 51 people were killed in violent attacks staged across Iraq, police said. Most of the attacks were in Baghdad. Another 191 people were wounded in Sunday's incidents, police told Xinhua. While most of the attacks were in neighborhoods throughout the Iraqi capital, police in Jadidat al-Shat and Baquba also reported deadly violence. The U.N. Assistance Mission for Iraq estimated 8,109 Iraqis have been killed from January through November.
