At least six militants were killed and many others wounded in a United States drone strike in North Waziristan tribal area of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said media reports.
According to the reports, the drone fired two missiles on a compound in Dattakhel area of North Waziristan tribal region, killing at least six militants and wounding many others. Some media reports suggested that the killed militants included foreigners, but the identity of the militants could not be ascertained yet.
The drone strike came at a time when Pakistan is undergoing a comprehensive military operation in North Waziristan against the local and foreign militants. This is the fourth US drone strike since the launch of the operation 'Zarb e Azb' on June 15. In past, Pakistan has many times condemned the US drone strikes in its territory, declaring it violation of its sovereignty and counterproductive in fight against terror.
