Karachi city traders are holding a strike today against the continued violence in the city. According to the Karachi Businessmen Alliance, trader extortion and crimes have increased and the government has failed to maintain law and order in the city. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) have announced their support of the strike. The Karachi Businessmen Alliance had decided to go on a strike after a trader has been killed in a shooting Tuesday at SherShah in Karachi. Examinations due to be held Wednesday have been postponed due to the strike.
