At least four people including a provincial lawmaker were killed and several others injured in four separate incidents of firing and bomb explosions in Pakistan on Saturday, local media and officials said.
Jan Muhammad Buledi, spokesperson of the Balochistan provincial government, said that a lawmaker, Hendry Masih, was killed when his personal bodyguard opened fire at him on Saturday morning.
Buledi said that Masih, a member of minority Christian community, was shot dead by the gunman that he hired 15 years ago outside his residence in provincial capital of Quetta.
Masih was elected as the provincial lawmaker on the reserved seat for minorities earlier last year. His nephew was also injured in the attack.
The country's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the family of the late lawmaker.
In a separate incident, a paramilitary soldier was killed and several others injured when a remote controlled blast hit a security forces' vehicle in the country's northwest tribal area of Mohmand agency, local media reported.
The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
In another incident in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a passerby was killed and a security personnel injured in twin blasts near a security forces' convoy in Mansehra district.
Separately in the country's northwest tribal area of Khyber agency, a peace militiaman was killed and several others injured in the explosion of a roadside planted bomb.
Officials from local political administration said that the deceased was trying to defuse the roadside bomb when the explosion happened.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and kicked off investigations.
