At least three people were killed and six others injured on Thursday evening in a suicide attack at a house in Pakistan's northwestern metropolitan of Peshawar, local media reported.
According to the reports, the incident took place at 9:40 p.m. when a suicide bomber attacked the house of a pro-government " Peace Committee" chief Farman Ullah in Mattni area of Peshawar, capital of northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The suicide bomber entered the drawing room of the house and exploded his explosives laden jacket and killed three people on spot besides injuring six others, the reports said.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the Lady Reading Hospital in the city.
According to hospital sources, at least three of the injured were in critical condition and they were being treated in the intensive care units.
All the deceased and wounded people were reportedly guests who came to meet the "Peace Committee" chief.
The blast destroyed the room and a couple of cars, while damaged nearby rooms and neighboring houses.
Farman told media that the suicide bomber wanted to target him but he escaped as he was sitting in another room.
"I have been receiving the threats from militants for supporting government in war against terrorism," Farman said.
Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the aids of the bomber who dropped him near the house.
No group claimed responsibly for the attack yet.
