Dialogue for crisis settlement
Algiers - APS

The political-military movements of Northern Mali affirmed Wednesday evening their commitment to participate in the peaceful dialogue for the settlement of the crisis to better meet the expectations of this region’s people.
During the first stage of the inter-Malian dialogue, launched Wednesday in Algiers, the vice President of the National Liberation Movement of Azawad (MNLA) Mahamadou Djeri Maiga underlined that the movements “have legitimate and real claims for the Azawad people. These claims must be the main focus of this dialogue,” he said
In his speech addressed on behalf of the three signatory movements of the “Declaration of Algiers,” Maiga underlined the necessity for these movements to take place in all the stages of this dialogue to better address the concerns of the Azawad people, reiterating his commitment to holding “serious” talks “with Mali’s central government for the settlement of the real issues that caused this conflict.”
Reiterating his commitment for Mali’s territorial unity and integrity, Maiga insisted on the implication of Northern Mali’s populations in the central government for a real development in the region.
The MNLA, the High Council for the Unity of the Azawad (HCUA) and the Arab Movement of Azawad (MAA) had signed, on June 9th, the "Algiers Declaration" in which they affirmed their willingness to work to consolidate the ongoing appeasement process and engage in an inclusive inter-Malian dialogue.
