The chairman of the commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Kadre Desire Ouedraogo said Thursday in Accra that he is convinced that consultation and dialogue are the only salvation to the Malian crisis, underlining Algeria’s several initiatives to launch the long-awaited inclusive dialogue.
“We are convinced that it is through dialogue and consultation that we can reach the sustainable solution to the Malian crisis, and we hail the initiatives taken by Algeria to find political solution to this situation,” Ouedraogo told the Algerian press on the sidelines of the 45th ordinary session of the summit of ECOWAS heads of State and government.
He added that Algeria has a “big” experience in the field of peace and security, underlining Algeria’s “good willingness,” expressed and demonstrated many times, to be a “factor of peace and stability” in the region.
Lamamra said that the initial phase of the inter-Malian dialogue will start on July 16 in Algiers, in the presence of the Malian government and the North-Malian armed movements.
The Arab Movement of Azawad (MAA), the Coordination for Azawad People (CPA) and the Coordination of Movements and Patriotic Resistance Fronts (CM-FPR) signed in June a preliminary platform aimed at finding a definitive solution to the Malian crisis and through which they reaffirmed their full respect of Mali’s territorial integrity and national unity.
