Whitney Bischoff froze her eggs at age 27.
The 29-year-old fertility nurse revealed as much in an interview with Good Morning America on Thursday. Bischoff told correspondent Linsey Davis she underwent the procedure as an insurance policy prior to meeting The Bachelor star and fiancé Chris Soules.
"The hope is that you don't have to use them," she related. "I would tell any woman to do it. I feel like by just taking the lead and taking control of my body and my fertility, it checked off a lot of boxes for me."
Bischoff competed with 29 other women for Soules' affection on season 19 of the ABC reality series, and got engaged to the 33-year-old Iowan farmer on the finale. The nurse admitted it was hard to keep the news a secret, and said it's nice to finally be a couple in public.
"I was just smitten over him," she confessed of her future husband, who competed on season 10 of The Bachelorette before being chosen for The Bachelor. "I mean, I think that he was just a very genuine, sweet guy that America fell in love with. And then I did, too. I'm a lucky lady."
Soules is currently a contestant on season 20 of ABC reality competition Dancing with the Stars. The reality star and professional dancer Witney Carson scored a 26 for their jive to "Footloose" in week one, and earned a 21 with their cha-cha to "Time of Our Lives" this week.
