Jenelle Evans is recovering from her addiction to drugs and alcohol.
The 23-year-old reality star asserted as much in an interview with People published Tuesday. Evans struggled with substance abuse for years, but told the magazine sons Jace and Kaiser help keep her focused and sober.
"My life has changed so much since I stopped doing drugs," she shared. "My whole attitude has changed. I'm more active in my children's lives, and I want to be at every milestone and special event they have."
"Being there for them is more important to me than going partying or doing drugs," she declared. "Having Kaiser has kept me so busy and motivated that I don't have time to hang out with the wrong crowd. I only focus on my sons, school and my future."
Evans previously admitted to spending thousands of dollars a week on drugs, and was arrested for heroin possession in April 2013. The troubled star was wanted by police for an alleged assault of ex-fiancé Nathan Griffin in May, and the couple have since reconciled.
Evans came to fame on season 2 of MTV series 16 and Pregnant, and went on to star on Teen Mom 2. The television personality and co-stars Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer and Chelsea Houska will return for a sixth season July 9 at 10 p.m. ET.
