Hoboken, N.J, as municipalities are wont to do, just moved to protect itself from an outside threat: \"Jersey Shore\" star Nicole \"Snooki\" Polizzi. Apparently, MTV had approached the city\'s government about filming the upcoming Snooki/J-WOWW spinoff in the city, but according to the Jersey Journal Hoboken mayor Dawn Zimmer would rather the honor go to some other locale. \"Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the city has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the Jersey Shore to be filmed in public locations,\" reads a letter sent to MTV and 495 Productions, the makers of \"Jersey Shore.\" Does this mean they can\'t film in Hoboken at all? No. Just not in public places after 11 p.m., which is generally when Snooki\'s day is just beginning. The statement promises swift action for any unapproved Snooki-filming: \"Any attempts to film in a manner that is not permitted without a permit will be dealt with immediately and aggressively by the city of Hoboken.\" Los Angeles - Chicago tribuine
