The London tabloid News of the World agreed to pay British-American actress Sienna Miller $162,000 to settle a phone-hacking suit Friday. News Group Newspapers, the Rupert Murdoch company that owns the News of the World, also agreed to pay Miller\'s legal expenses, The Guardian reported. The settlement is the first since News of the World acknowledged its staff had engaged in widespread invasion of privacy, including hacking into phone messages. The case was on trial in the High Court. Hugh Tomlinson, Miller\'s lawyer, said she was not concerned with the financial damages. \"The crucial point in our view is to know the extent of the wrongdoing,\" he said in court. Miller, 30, became tabloid fodder during her relationship with Jude Law. The couple met in 2003 while filming \"Alfie.\" The Guardian is likely to face more lawsuits. A lawyer representing James Hewitt, who had an affair with Princess Diana during her breakup with Prince Charles, said he has met with police over interceptions of his messages.Type the text here
