Egyptian singer Shando said that he did not accuse prominent Egyptian singer Mohamed Mounir of trying to kill him after a dispute erupted between the two over the song “Ya Rumman” (Oh Pomegranate,) which they were supposed to sing as a duet. Shando stated the dispute that arose was merely technical and that his relationship with Mounir is very good. Shando also denied rumors that he accused Mounir of stealing. Shando said that he will sing the song “Ya Rumman” alone and will release it as a single. According to the internet website MBC.net, Shando said that he has always looked up to Mounir and considers him an Egyptian music icon. “I hold great respect for Mounir and would never say or do anything to insult him,” said Shando. Shando claims that he first asked Mounir to perform the song “Ya Rumman” as a duet, and that he was honored Mounir accepted. “I thought it would be a great return for my fans after a prolonged absence,” said Shando, but, “When we began rehearsing for the duet and my participation did not exceed 20 seconds from the song, I refused to accept it.” Shando is also preparing to release a music video for the song “Al Sayad” (The fisherman). The song is written by Mamdouh Al Taheei and composed by Mohammad Rajih.
