Singer Justin Bieber recently sat down with radio host Elvis Duran to talk about his new single, "What Do You Mean," and reflect on his past mistakes.
Us Weekly provided a sneak peak of the interview, set to air Friday on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show along with Bieber's new song.
While talking about his tumultuous past, Bieber confined in the radio host that now he is getting rid of negative influences in his life and surrounding himself with people that he can trust.
"I just want to be around people who I feel are supporting me, uplifting me, and making sure I'm the best version of myself because there are so many people in this industry who just want to keep seeing me fall," he told Duran.
"It has to be on you. You have to take the conscious effort, because for me, so many times it was good people coming in my life and tugging at me, but I wasn't ready," he explained. 'They're like, 'Justin, come on.' But I wasn't ready to take that leap and be like, 'Okay this is what I want to change, this is who I am, and this is not who I am." It takes moments of clarity to be like, 'Oh, that's why I'm not like this. That's why I shouldn't do this.'"
The pop-star has spent most of 2015 trying to improve his image and apologize for his previous run-ins with police by posting apologetic videos online and admitting where he went wrong on The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber.
Looking back on everything when asked if he would do anything differently the star told Duran, "Would I do anything different? I would probably stay away from Miami."
Bieber's new single "What Do You Mean" premieres Friday.
