Former Saturday Night Live cast member Jan Hooks died Thursday morning at her home in New York City, her publicist says.
Hooks was 57.
According to TMZ, Hooks was battling a serious illness.
Hooks joined the SNL cast in 1986 and worked along side such cast members as Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley and Mike Myers.
Some of her famous impressions included Sinead O'Connor and Hillary Clinton.
The comedienne left SNL in 1991 to replace Jean Smart on Designing Women.
Hook was nominated for an Emmy award for her work on television show, 3rd Rock From the Sun.
