Workers delivered a giant, seven-foot-tall "15" to Times Square on Tuesday, a few days ahead of when it will be used to complete the "2015" sign that accompanies the New Year's Eve Times Square Ball.
The lighted numbers were unloaded from a flatbed truck at 46th Street and Broadway. They stuck around ground-level for some photo opportunities before being taken to the top of One Times Square.
After a few days the numbers will be added to a "2" and a "0" to complete the "2015" sign that will light up at midnight on Jan. 1, 2015, after the Times Square Ball fully drops.
The 12-foot diameter ball weighs 11,875 pounds and is covered with 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles. It was first used to herald in the New Year on Dec. 31, 1907.
