Hong Kong actor-singer Andy Lau confirmed that he has become the proud father of a baby girl, in a message with the heading \"All is well\", on his official website on Monday, reported Chinese media. \"Apologies for making my family (Lau addresses his fans as his family members) wait for so long. \"Big boss has become a father. A week-long course for first time fathers has been completed. Left the hospital today, got home, came back here and felt at ease,\" said Lau in an intimate message to his fans. \"Because of my family\'s continuous well-wishes, both mother and daughter are safe, happiness!\" Lau appeared to have been in a rather pensive mood when he composed the message, and expressed that he had been trying to reconcile his roles as a superstar, a husband and a father lately. \"These few days, I have tried being myself and not a showbiz personality, tried not getting distracted and responding to this or that... \"Tried focusing on being a good husband; tried being patient and learn the duties of a father,\" said Lau. \"Even though I must be a good big boss, a good husband and a good father, it\'s hard!!\" he continued. \"But there is measureless joy and comfort within!!!\" However, Lau did not accompany his message with a photo of his baby girl, who was reportedly born on May 8, and said that his fans \"should understand\". He concluded his message by promising to speak more on the matter when he meets his fans face-to-face.
