Zakat House announced on Thursday the completion of a 2011 mobile water distribution project, known as (Suqya), where bottles of mineral water are presented to workers at construction sites to cool them off of scorching heat waves. A supervisor at the Projects and Local institutions Department at Zakat House Mohammad Abdulrahman Al-Ajmi said, in a press statement, that the \"mobile Suqya project\" is one of the humanitarian projects done by Zakat House since 2002 and is funded by both Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Charity Fund and by public donors. This project was launched from the start of June to the end of July by providing medium sized refrigerated trucks to keep water and milk cool for distribution to all constructions workers around the country, he said. He further noted that the project cost was 20,000 Kuwaiti dinar (KD). Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak Charity Fund contributed with KD 5,000, while the other KD 15,000 was funded by donors to Zakat House. The total of milk bottles handed out reached 135,000, while the number of water bottles amounted to 106,000 through the whole duration of the project. He concluded by lauding the role played by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak Charity Fund and the donors for making this project a success.
