The recent unemployment issue, especially among Omani youth, will be the focal point of a youth and business forum to be held on Wednesday by AIESEC Oman, according to a press release on Tuesday. The theme of the day-long forum is ‘Connecting tomorrow\'s entrepreneurs with today\'s corporate leaders\'. \"This forum has come at a critical time to address the recent issue of unemployment raised by many youngsters,\" believes Aisha Al Mahrami, Director of External Relation at the AIESEC Oman. \"The main objective of this forum is for young potential entrepreneurs to connect with the experts from Oman\'s corporate world and learn about starting their own enterprise,\" she further said. Article continues below The event, to be held at the College of Banking and Financial Studies, is expected to bring together 100 selected delegates, including 70-odd youngsters from leading colleges and universities of Oman and 30 guests from different corporate houses. \"Being few completely youth-run initiatives in Oman, AIESEC plays a key role in the development of young Omani leaders and entrepreneurs,\" said Dr. Ghalib Al Hosni, AIESEC Board Chairman. He believes that AIESEC exposes young members to different cross cultural experiences. AIESEC is a 62-year-old international youth-run organisation that is currently present in over 110 countries. AIESEC in Oman was established in 2007 and currently provides local students and recent graduates an opportunity to explore and develop their leadership potential. AIESEC also encourages young Omanis to take part in an international internship with a global network of peers. The Oman chapter of the international organisation has so far secured over 60 internships for international, as well as local students. AIESEC in Oman has successfully hosted one international conference and five National conferences in the last four years.
