Istanbul - Arabstoday

The Energy Exchange on Thursday announced that the second annual Iraq 2011: Future Energy conference will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from Sept.26 to Sept.29, 2011. The event will witness leading industry experts and decision makers unveil the significant investment opportunities in Iraq’s oil and gas, power, electricity and its related infrastructure sectors.Sidharth Mehta, Senior Project Manager, The Energy Exchange, said: “The oil and gas, power, and electricity infrastructure sectors of Iraq have been struggling for several years now. An average of 6 hours of electricity is received daily, causing significant problems, especially during summer. The Ministry of Electricity needs to raise US$29 billion between 2015 and 2030 to meet their strategic plans. The four-day Iraq 2011: Future Energy summit will provide the ideal platform to network and learn about the profitable opportunities arising out of this in Iraq.”Iraq 2011: Future Energy will see industry professionals analysing Iraq’s power sector and providing an overview of investments required by its Ministry of Electricity. The importance of private sector participation and the rules and regulations of Iraq’s Independent Power Project will also be outlined. From / Gulf Today
