Saudi Ambassador to Nouakchott Saud Al-Jabiry presented a letter from Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf to his Mauritanian counterpart approving the loan from the Saudi Fund for Development. “This loan reflects the brotherly relations between the two countries,” said Al-Jabiry. He said the loan would be provided to support Mauritania’s food security programs. A number of officials from the Mauritanian Ministry of Economic and Development Affairs and Saudi Embassy attended the meeting between Al-Jabiry and Mauritanian Economy Minister Sidi Ould Tah. The latest funding reflects the solidarity Saudi Arabia has always shown for Mauritania in various fields, said Ould Tah in a speech during a ceremony for the signing of the cooperation agreement.
