Exports of goods and services have earned Mozambique 302 million U.S. dollars this year, up 17 percent from last year, Radio Mozambique reported on Monday. Coal exports kicked off two about three months ago boosted the southern African country\'s economy. As the mining sector grows up, Mozambique will earn more hard currency in near future, the radio said. There have been new discoveries of coal in the northwestern province of Tete by an Indian company, while gas and oil have been found in the northernmost province of Cabo Delgado, the report said. According to Radio Mozambique, there will be an economic growth from 16.5 percent this year to 17.7 percent next year. The government is working to reduce the budget deficit, standing at 15.5 percent next year, the radio said.
