Macao saw the per-capita spending of visitors (excluding gaming expenses) reached 1,633 patacas (204.12 U.S. dollars) in the third quarter of 2011, up 7 percent year-on-year, according to figures released on Monday by the city\'s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Analyzed by place of residence, per-capita spending of visitors from the Chinese mainland, Japan, Southeast Asia, China\'s Taiwan and Hong Kong amounted to 2,026 patacas (253.25 U.S. dollars), 1,492 patacas (186 U.S. dollars), 1,420 patacas (177 U.S. dollars), 1,199 patacas (150 U.S. dollars) and 962 patacas (120 U.S. dollars) , respectively, the figures indicated. Meanwhile, per-capita spending of tourists (overnight visitors) increased by six percent year-on-year to 2,716 patacas (339 U.S. dollars), and that of same-day visitors increased by 11 percent to 647 patacas (80 U.S. dollars). In the third quarter of 2011, per-capita non-shopping spending (excluding gaming expenses) of visitors increased by 15 percent year-on-year to 823 patacas (102.8 U.S. dollars), of which expenses on Accommodation and Food and beverage accounted for 46 percent and 36 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, per-capita shopping spending amounted to 810 patacas (101 U.S. dollars) in the period.
