A number of prominent Lebanese businessmen and other figures yesterday lauded Kuwait's countless contributions to Lebanon, expressing their immense gratitude to the leadership of Kuwait, especially to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Haitham Abu Al-Hassan, one of the Lebanese businessmen who spoke to KUNA at a business gathering currently taking place in Hammana, said that the deep-rooted Kuwaiti-Lebanese relations are "exceptional" on many levels. Al-Hassan added that Kuwaiti investments in Lebanon, especially in the fields of real estate and banking, are considered a "cornerstone" amongst Arab investments. In conclusion, Abu Al-Hassan hailed the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for promoting essential services in some of the main Lebanese tourist areas such as Hammana, Al-Shabaniya, Bhamdoun and Al-Qala, which he said have helped to advance the economic and social cycle in the country. The gathering was also attended by several Lebanese military figures and KFAED representative Engineer Nawaf Al-Dabous, as well as businessmen from Lebanon Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar.
