Iran, Turkmenistan trade to touch $5b Abdolhamid Asadian, Director of Europe and America Bureau of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization said that Iran-Turkmen trade currently stood at drs 4.2 billion. Addressing the 2nd Iran-Turkmenistan economic meeting, Asadian said Tehran and Ashgabat have great potentials to enhance level of trade to dlrs 10 billion. Palvan Taganov, the head of the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attending the meeting said for his part that his country is willing to promote political and economic cooperation with the brotherly country of Iran. He further said the Islamic Republic is a major Turkmen trade partner.
