Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Abdulla Fakhro today paid inspection visits to Lulu Hypermarket, located in Al-Dana Shopping Mall, and Manama Central Market, and was updated on the prices of fruit and vegetables and trading activities on the second day of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Lulu Hypermarket retail operations director John Andreas and director-general Joseph Taher, briefed the minister on ongoing food promotion, said to be the biggest and best, compared with past years. They also stressed the stability of prices and availability of sufficient stocks of food products and consumption basis staples. Central Market traders denied "inaccurate" newspaper report, stressing the stability of prices. They even described prices in Bahrain markets as being the lowest in comparison with other countries in the region. They cautioned against the repercussions of inaccurate reports in eroding the consumers' confidence and fuelling their concerns.
