France's national statistics institute, Insee, on Friday confirmed stagnation of French economic growth in the second quarter this year, after the eurozone's second largest economy had recorded an unexpected growth rate of 0.7 percent a quarter earlier.
The quarterly dull performance was attributed to negative contribution of household expenditure and investment, the country's main growth engine.
In its second estimate, Insee saw stagnated consumer spending from a 1.2 percent rise in first quarter while investment fell by 0.2 percent in the second three months of the year against the 1.3 percent increase a quarter earlier.
French government targeted 1.5 percent growth for the whole year of 2016.
