The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 106 yen range in early trade in Tokyo on Monday morning, marginally higher than levels seen at the end of last week when worse-than-expected U.S. employment data saw the greenback tank.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 106.71-73 yen compared with 106.50-60 yen in New York and 108.74-76 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. on Friday.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1349-1351 dollars and 121.11-15 yen against 1.1361-1371 dollars and 121.08-18 yen in New York and 1.1150-1152 dollars and 121.25-29 yen on Friday afternoon in late trade.
